Types of Licenses and Companies for the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC)

A corporation can only receive an operating license for an activity approved by the Dubai Multi Commodities Center. Companies are able to do around nine hundred (900) operations thanks to DMCC. The following three license categories can be applied to all approved company activities:

Trading

The owners of the business are often able to purchase, sell, trade, and exchange various goods and commodities with this license.

Services

The services license issued by DMCC enables entrepreneurs to offer a range of commercial and expert services. Either business to business or business to customer transactions may be made using these services.

Industrial

An industrial license may be used for manufacturing, producing, or repurposing activities related to packaging.

Each license type allows for the combination and execution of up to six (6) different activities. Beyond this, other activities can be added, but doing so will incur additional costs for each activity.

Certain actions may need permission from outside parties, depending on their nature.

The Dubai Multi Commodities Centre accepts the incorporation of the following business types:

Limited Liability Company

At DMCC, a limited liability corporation may be entirely controlled by a single person or by a number of people. With this kind of business, the owner(s)’ obligation to the firm is limited to the capital they have invested in it. This implies that the limited liability company’s obligations cannot be satisfied with the personal assets of its shareholders.

Subsidiary

The DMCC offers companies the opportunity to establish a subsidiary if they currently operate in or outside of the United Arab Emirates. By ownership of shares, the parent firm of the DMCC owns a subsidiary. In the United Arab Emirates, subsidiaries are not required to perform the same tasks as their parent firm. Any activity allowed by the DMCC may be carried out by subsidiaries incorporated at the DMCC.

Branch

Businesses who are based in the UAE or elsewhere may choose to open a branch office at the DMCC. A branch, as opposed to a subsidiary, must perform the same tasks as the parent business. Businesses located in other offshore jurisdictions and free zones have the option to expand by setting up shop at Dubai Multi Commodities Centre.

Office Space in a Free Zone for the Dubai Multi Commodities Center

There are 68 towers at the free zone that offer a diverse range of alternatives for commercial office space. Owners of businesses have a variety of options, from one to several storeys. Business owners have the following options for office space to choose from:

Flexi Desk

A shared workstation in a large area is called a flexi desk. Flexi desks are not exclusive to certain DMCC programs. Flexi desks are available in the other packages for an extra AED 16,800 per year. In addition, a 1,000 AED refundable security deposit and an administrative charge of AED 656 are required. A flexi desk may be used to assign up to three (3) visas.

Serviced Office

A serviced office is a specific physical space that a business can utilize on a private basis. Like flexi desks, some packages come with serviced offices. Serviced offices are available for purchase in packages without them for an annual fee of AED 35,000 + VAT. A serviced office and up to five (5) visa allocations are allowed.

Physical Office for Lease

Additionally, businesses can rent real offices. The lease costs per square foot vary from AED 50 to AED 150. Each nine (9) square meters of rented office space is assigned one visa.

Physical Office for Sale

Additionally, DMCC businesses have the choice to buy office space for their own usage. The price per square foot for office space ranges from AED 500 to 1,500. For every nine (9) square meters of workplace space, one visa is allotted.

DMCC - A Free Zone that Specialises in Trading

We have frequently applauded different free zones that strive to specialize in one (1) subject or one (1) activity. This is merely due to the fact that having to manage and learn several topics makes it hard to improve. But the best way to improve is to focus just on perfecting a small number of skills. Many free zones in the United Arab Emirates are starting to grasp this idea and are trying to set themselves apart according to the primary activity that they wish to encourage. Media-focused cities such as Dubai Media City and Sharjah Media City are a couple prominent examples. In the United Arab Emirates, Dubai Health Care City is a free zone devoted exclusively to hospitals and medical services. Please do not misunderstand us. It is untrue that these free zones are limited to allowing just one type of activity. Actually, these free zones concentrate on a few things while offering a variety. Typically, the extra activities support and enhance the ones that the free zone wants to concentrate on.

Having said that, we are aware of some free zones in the United Arab Emirates that concentrate on operations related to consulting and service categories that require licenses. They gain from it as manufacturing and industrialization have given way to services and consulting in the global economy. Nonetheless, one (1) free zone in Dubai has defied the flow by focusing on business ventures, and in doing so, it has also outperformed everyone else at their own game. The Dubai Multi Commodities Centre, or DMCC for short, is a free zone dedicated to trading a broad variety of commodities, from precious metals to teas, and everything in between. It is safe to assume that the DMCC allows the trading of any form of commodity or good.

Thus, the Dubai Multi Commodities Center Free Zone is an obvious alternative for you if you want to launch a successful trading company in Dubai. To top it all off, though, we’ve compiled a list of the benefits of locating your next business at the DMCC. The following are the reasons:

1. Location

The location of the setup is the foundation of any trade business. The position affects connectivity via ports, roads, railroads, and aircraft. You can find the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre right in the center of Dubai. Dubai City has excellent connections to both the rest of the globe and other towns and cities in the United Arab Emirates. Modern highways and ports are conveniently located near the city, making it simpler to send and receive cargo. Two thirds of the world’s population can easily reach Dubai via its two international airports, Dubai International Airport and Al Maktoum International Airport, with a direct eight-hour trip. Thus, if you open a trade company in Dubai, the globe is your oyster in terms of clients.

2. Focused and expansive

Even so, we believe that DMCC is designed for trading. However, the free zone offers additional licensing categories. The Dubai Multi Commodities Centre provides industrial permits and services that allow a variety of operations to be conducted. The free zone has taken steps to ensure that the infrastructure it offers for services and industrial businesses is operating on a level with that of its commercial infrastructure.

3. Business growth

DMCC offers enormous exposure to every business that partners with it. This is carried out in two ways with the intention of promoting networking and training. First, let’s talk about networking. The idea is straightforward. Your possible audience is the people you encounter. This audience may consist of people who can assist you in running your business or they may be potential clients. At the moment, the DMCC is home to approximately 18,000 registered businesses with over 1 lakh (1,00,000) employees. The extensive flow of ideas and information inside this network can only spur your Dubai Multi Commodities Center Company’s expansion.

In addition, the DMCC hosts monthly workshops and instructional activities to help employees and investors operate their businesses more effectively. A new knowledge series program from DMCC offers insightful advice on building a profitable business in the free zone.

DMCC offers the ideal balance of training and networking to grow your company.

4. Ownership

The common misperception about company formation in the United Arab Emirates is that foreign investors must form partnerships with UAE citizens in order to establish a business. Even in such case, the foreign investor will only be able to own up to 49% of the company; the UAE national will still own the majority interest. This rule is not applicable when establishing a business in a free zone, such the DMCC. It is not necessary for non-UAE nationals to collaborate with UAE nationals in order to own 100% of a company that is part of the Dubai Multi Commodities Center. This grants foreigners total control over the business activities and capital of their enterprise. You operate your business however you see fit as foreign nationals.

5. Tax exemptions

People despise taxes everywhere in the world. The reason for this is that they believe their reward for their efforts is inadequate. Most of the time, people don’t even realize that taxes are being taken out of their pockets. The United Arab Emirates is one of the few nations in the world without a tax system. In the UAE, there is no business or personal tax. This implies that all of your earnings if you open a business in a UAE free zone are your own. Because there are no deductions in the UAE compared to other regions of the world, this also implies that the same business owner operating under similar conditions will generate more money there. Tax-free revenues from a free zone firm established in the United Arab Emirates are a reality, however for most it is only a dream.

6. Property solutions

Dubai Multi Commodities Center offers a range of office space property alternatives to its corporate clients. When incorporating, businesses can choose between a regular office and a flexi desk for their workspace. Additionally, the businesses might choose to own or rent office space. These adaptable and adjustable office solutions may be tailored to meet the requirements of any size company.

One of the rare free zones where you can live and work is DMCC. At Jumeirah, DMCC provides a range of residential alternatives distributed across sixty-eight (68) towers. These choices vary in terms of both dimensions and design. In Dubai’s uptown neighborhood, business owners and their families can reside and enjoy themselves.

Please get in touch with us or submit an inquiry via our website if you are certain that the DMCC is the ideal free zone for your company. InZone provides rapid, easy, and tailored company creation solutions for every type of business.
